Overview

Manali to Delhi is about 530–540 km, usually 12 to 14 hours by taxi via Mandi, Kiratpur and the NH44 through Ambala. It's the long way home from the mountains: around five hours of hill road to the plains, then the busy Punjab and Haryana highway into Delhi. Most people leave Manali at 5–6 am to reach Delhi by evening; if you have a late flight, plan the airport drop with a generous buffer. Splitting the drive with a night in Chandigarh is an easy way to make it two relaxed days.
