About Chintpurni for road travellers

Chintpurni is a hilltop temple town in Una district, at about 978 m, built around the Mata Shri Chintpurni temple, one of the most visited Shakti Peeths in north India. Vehicles usually stop near the bus stand, about 1.5 km below the temple, and pilgrims walk up through a bazaar of prasad and flower stalls. Sundays and the Navratris are extremely busy. Una, with the nearest railway station, is about 54 km away, and Jwalamukhi about 35 km, so most visitors combine Chintpurni with other Devi temples.
