Overview
Naina Devi to Chintpurni is about 110–115 km, usually 3 to 3½ hours by taxi, coming down the Naina Devi hill to the Sutlej, then via Nangal and Una up to Chintpurni at about 978 m. It's the classic second leg of the Himachal Devi darshan, linking two of the state's best-known Shakti Peeths in a single day. Many pilgrims do Naina Devi in the morning, drive to Chintpurni after lunch and stay overnight, so they can have an early darshan before the crowds. If you're already at Naina Devi or Anandpur Sahib, we can pick you up there; if you're coming from Chandigarh, book the full circuit with one car.

Driving tips for this route
- 1Start the drive by early afternoon to reach Chintpurni before dark; the last climb is a winding hill road.
- 2Nangal and Una are the places to stop for lunch and fuel.
- 3At Chintpurni, vehicles usually stop around the bus stand, about 1.5 km below the temple.
- 4On Navratri days, expect diversions near both temples; your driver will use the official parking areas.
- 5If you're travelling with elderly family members, an overnight at Chintpurni makes the next morning's darshan much easier.

Planning the Devi darshan in order
Most pilgrims follow the circuit from the Punjab side inwards: Naina Devi first, then Chintpurni, Jwalamukhi, Brajeshwari Devi in Kangra and Chamunda Devi near Dharamshala. This order keeps each day's driving short, and the climbs gradual.
A typical three-day plan is Naina Devi and the drive to Chintpurni on day one, Chintpurni darshan and Jwalamukhi on day two, and Kangra and Chamunda Devi on day three, ending in Dharamshala or at Kangra airport. We can adjust the order around festival crowds and your family's pace.
- Book one car for the whole yatra so the driver waits at each temple.
- Keep the morning for darshan and drive in the afternoon.
- Carry a light shawl: the temples sit on breezy ridges.
Where to stay near Chintpurni
There are dharamshalas and simple hotels close to the Chintpurni bus stand, and more choice in Una and along the Bharwain road. Staying close to the temple means you can walk up for the early aarti and leave for Jwalamukhi straight after darshan.
A sample day: Naina Devi to Chintpurni
Most pilgrims do this leg as day one of a longer yatra. Here's a comfortable plan with one car and driver. Times are approximate, and on Navratri days everything takes longer.
If you're short on time, you can go straight on to Jwalamukhi the same evening, but arriving late means a hurried darshan. An overnight near Chintpurni keeps the trip unhurried, and it's what we'd recommend for families with elderly members or young children.
- 7:00 am: darshan at Naina Devi, by ropeway or on foot.
- 9:30 am: breakfast below the temple, then drive down to Kiratpur Sahib.
- 10:30 am: optional stop at Anandpur Sahib.
- 1:00 pm: lunch in Nangal or Una.
- 3:30 pm: reach Chintpurni, check in, and rest.
- Evening: walk up for the evening aarti, or keep darshan for the quieter early morning.
