Overview
Delhi to Chintpurni is roughly 365–405 km depending on where you start, usually 8 to 10 hours by taxi up the NH44 and through Ropar, Nangal and Una. Mata Shri Chintpurni, at about 978 m in Una district, is one of north India's most visited Shakti Peeths, and for many Delhi families the trip is an annual yatra, often combined with Jwalamukhi and Naina Devi. It's a long day on the road, so most pilgrims leave before dawn or stop for the night on the way. We pick you up anywhere in Delhi NCR, drive the whole way with one driver, and wait while you have darshan.

Driving tips for this route
- 1Leave Delhi by 4–5 am to reach Chintpurni by early afternoon; the plains stretch is fastest before the morning traffic.
- 2Vehicles usually stop near the Chintpurni bus stand, about 1.5 km below the temple, followed by a walk through the bazaar.
- 3With elderly passengers, break the trip: a night in Chandigarh or Anandpur Sahib on the way makes the yatra far easier.
- 4Winter mornings bring fog on the Delhi–Ambala highway; we may move the pickup later for safety.
- 5For the full Devi darshan, book a multi-day trip so the same car covers Jwalamukhi, Kangra and Chamunda Devi.

Planning the yatra from Delhi
From Delhi, Chintpurni is a full day's drive, so the shape of your trip matters more than the exact route. Three plans work well. The fast one is a single long day, darshan the next morning, and back on day two or three. The comfortable one breaks the drive in Chandigarh or Anandpur Sahib. The complete one is a three- to five-day Devi darshan covering Naina Devi, Chintpurni, Jwalamukhi, Brajeshwari Devi in Kangra and Chamunda Devi, ending near Dharamshala or at Kangra airport for a flight back.
Whichever you choose, one car and driver for the whole trip saves arranging transport at each temple, and the driver knows the parking areas and walking distances.
At Chintpurni
Darshan hours vary with the season; one temple guide lists roughly 4 am to 10 pm in summer and about 5:30 am to 9:30 pm in winter, with longer hours in the Navratris. Sundays and festival days are the busiest. Arriving the evening before and walking up early the next morning gives the calmest darshan, and you're back on the road towards Jwalamukhi, about 35 km away, by mid-morning.
- Stay near the bus stand for an early walk to the temple.
- Keep big bags in the car; the lane up is busy.
- Tell us about anyone who can't walk far so we plan the nearest drop point.
Travelling with elderly parents
Many Chintpurni yatras from Delhi include grandparents, and a few choices make the trip much easier for them. Book an Innova Crysta or a similar car with higher seats and good legroom, plan comfort stops every two to three hours, and split the drive with a night in Chandigarh or Anandpur Sahib rather than doing 9–10 hours in one go.
At the temple, the walk from the bus stand is the hardest part. Tell us in advance and we'll plan the closest permitted drop point, and visit on a weekday morning when the queue is shortest.
