Overview
Manali is Himachal's adventure capital, and this six-day trip packs in the best of it while leaving time to recover. You raft the Beas near Pirdi, fly tandem from the slopes above Solang or Dobhi, walk the trail to Jogini waterfall above Vashisht and take a day hike towards the Hampta valley or the high village of Sethan. Evenings are for Old Manali's cafés. Activities are run by licensed local operators and paid to them directly, so you choose how much you want to do, and the car and driver take care of the rest.

Choosing operators
Book activities with operators registered with Himachal's tourism department. Check that rafts carry helmets and life jackets, that paragliding pilots are licensed, and that equipment looks well maintained. Your driver can suggest established operators, but you decide.
A balanced week
Adventure days are tiring. We alternate the bigger activities with easier days, so you're fresh for each one. The plan can change daily depending on the weather.
Who this suits
Groups of friends, active couples and families with teenagers who want more than snow points and shopping.
Activity price guide
Prices are set by operators and change with season and demand. As a rough guide, a rafting run on the Beas costs a few thousand rupees per raft, tandem paragliding a few thousand per person depending on flight length, and Solang's ziplines, ATVs and ropeway a few hundred to a couple of thousand each. Your driver will help you compare options, but pay only at official counters and ask for a receipt.
Most activities are weather-dependent, so keep at least one day flexible. If rain stops rafting or flying, the trails and Vashisht's hot springs make good alternatives.
What to bring
Quick-drying clothes and sandals for rafting, closed shoes for flying and hiking, a light rain jacket and sunscreen.
