Overview

A week in the hills where no drive takes more than three hours. You stay a night in Kasauli, three nights in Shimla and two in Chail, with hotels chosen for car access to the door, lifts where possible and quiet rooms. The plan leaves mornings slow and afternoons free, with short outings to Kufri, Mashobra and the Viceregal Lodge. Altitudes stay around 2,000–2,300 m, so there's no altitude worry. It's the trip we design most often for parents travelling with their children.

Best for: Senior citizens, families with elderly parents and anyone who wants the hills without long drives

  • No drive longer than three hours
  • Three nights in Shimla near the Mall lift
  • Kasauli's quiet lanes
  • Chail's palace and forest
  • Viceregal Lodge and Kufri at a gentle pace
  • Hotels with car access to the door

Designed for comfort

We keep every drive short, plan for rest each afternoon and choose rooms close to lifts or on the ground floor. Your driver will help with luggage and drop you as close as possible to each sight.

Three gentle hill towns

Kasauli is small and level; Shimla has history and the Mall; Chail is forest and quiet. Together they offer variety without long journeys.

Who this suits

Senior citizens, families with elderly parents and anyone with limited mobility or a dislike of long car journeys.

Health and comfort tips

Carry regular medicines for the whole trip plus a few days extra, and a copy of prescriptions. Hill roads can cause motion sickness; sit in the front seat and ask the driver to stop whenever needed. Evenings are cool even in summer, so pack a warm layer.
